How to deal with time sickness
In the 1980s a new term was born: “Time Sickness“. It descibes the feeling of having not enough time to finish things up, and the only thing one can do about it is to accelerate working speed. You may have already experienced it. Just imagine your doing the same monotonous work every day, and you boss keeps feeding ypu with more and more things to do. What is your bodys answer to this? It’s stress! Physicans have found out, that stress can be healthy. But if you experience to much stress, it’s unhealthy and even worse: It can lock you up from inside! Time sickness is typical problem in our faster and faster growing society. You have to be productive to get paid. What about stress you say? You have to deal with it someway. I can only say that entering the time sickness maze is the worst thing you can do. Soon you’ll find yourself in a position where you want to work faster and faster , getting even more burned-out. You’re doing no god to your health AND productivity.
A worker with too much stress at his hands simply can’t concentrate as much as a somewhat reliefed “office soldier”. But what can YOU do to fight against time sicness? Take breaks! Socialize!
It’s a good idea to take breaks from your daily routine and experience something different. You could go out, hug a tree, fee the nature or communicate with your colleagues. Unforetunatly, this is not available on demand. Sometimes you have to rely on shorter breaks to crush the daily routine and to fight time sickness. What about surfing your favourite websites to slow down and have some fun? Your boss doesn’t seem to like that, but it’s YOUR health! Unfortunatly, many Internet Sites are blocked at work. So does that mean you can’t access them? No, it doesn’t! So called “proxy services” can help you access blocked websites. You can use proxys such as gostealthy.com to unfilter myspace, access blocked websites such as yahoo - uncensored, freely.
Try it yourself, fight time sickness. Remember: It’s your life and you got to do whatever it takes to lead a good and healthy life!
