Free the Internet - access blocked websites

The Internet is a part of our everyday lifes. The philosophy that stands behind the WorldWideWeb is freedom. Freedom to choose. Where to go. Which site to visit. We all got used to that kind of freedom the web offers us. It’s a relief to see that the internet is not as much regulated as the “real life” is. But the internet is in danger. Did you ever stuble upon a blocked website ? It sucks to be at work , trying to surf your favourite website and..it’s blocked. I know what everybody says. Every employer should have the right to block access to every website he wants. He pays for people to work, not to browse youtube or myspace. This is highly understandable. But, think about it for a minute. Isn’t that kind of behaviour like a gun pointing at the Web and it’s freedom and uniqueness?

What is next? In China and Iran, the gouvernment trys to block websites. They don’t allow their citizens to access the web freely. How to they justify blocking access to websites? They say, every nation shall have the right to police it’s citizens. Why? Because every nation is responsible for peace within their society and they have the right to prevent rebellious behaviour.

That doesn’t sound right to you? It doesn’t sound right to me neither. I t’s good to have web based proxys to access blocked websites. It doesn’t matter if you try to browse the web at work or in school. Free the web.
